You know what's a bad idea? Unleashing magic on everyone.
Especially if it is just to find Bae, because... dude, EMMA WAS A BOUNTY HUNTER AND SHE OWES YOU A FAVOR, DIPSHIT. That might have been useful!
But, on top of missing Bae and Belle's point... magic evens the playing field. I think in a pure non-magical battle of wits, Gold would win, but he just gave Regina all her power back, after she'd used the last little bit of it in the last episode to get her apple.

I don't Henry's lack of reaction was necessarily a condemnation. And I would even hesitate to call it a lack of reaction. I saw a lot of conflict in his face as he was looking at Regina, not the harshness of calling her the Evil Queen. He could have reamed her out -- AGAIN -- but he didn't. He hesitated. I think that hesitation is telling. You and I have talked a lot about how the Charmings match up -- MM and Henry, Emma and not!James -- and I think that his Snow-like characteristics are coming into play here again. I think his naturally compassionate nature kept him from laying into her and pointing out that he's been right all along.

But it can't be denied that his relationship with Regina is strained, to say the least. She says she loves him and I don't doubt it, but her love, as you pointed out earlier, is just as destructive as her hatred. Maybe even more so. Whereas he's only recently come to the conclusion that she's the Evil Queen and needs to be stopped, but has been seeing Archie for longer, so clearly there were ongoing issues early on.

I guess it's a long way around of saying I think his feelings towards Regina are probably way too complex to simplify as "he loves her" or "he doesn't love her." She was all he knew as family for a long time, but one he thought he could find a different family, he threw himself into it. That's not the mark of a happy child. What we've seen from him towards her, I think, is mainly indifference ranging briefly into despising her, but now that the Curse is broken, he's going to have to come to terms with the fact that people really are going to hunt her down.

Snow/Charming

I just freakin' love my pup.

I just - augh. He is SO AWESOME and heroic and kick-ass. And eeeee!

But this is not about the Huntsman.

I just want to express all of my feels ever re: Snow and Charming in FTL. I just love the look on Snow's face when Charming proposes and she stares at the ring on her finger. It's just ... idk, really cute to see her looking at it like it suits her perfectly when episodes ago, she was all, 'This doesn't suit me.'

JUST. UGH.

Their true love appeals to the romantic in me.

And yes, it is SUPER Disney movie, but Charming and his cape swooshing? SO. PERFECT. It is Ultimate in Prince Charming-ness. And I just - my friend and I squeaked SO LOUD when it happened. It's just too cute.

THEY ARE TOO CUTE.
ahuntsman: emma, kisses, so i have this thing for emma (sg | you make me remember.)

I love this show for letting us be five years old again in all the very very best ways.

THIS SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH. I just love getting to relive all of those Disney movies, but in live-action, bendy, twisty, new-things-are-happening ways. It is just - I think that's why I love this show so much. It's nostalgia + a new flavour because we're all grown-up now added together to create something so damned wonderful.

Right? Poor Mal! And then she gets all exploded!

Also, I am now SO GLAD Henry couldn't explore the mines further. Considering, you know, DRAGON.

THIS.

THIS.

ALL OF THIS.

And no, not even just because I am a selfish mun who would like more of her pup on-screen.

Emma in my head got SO HAPPY at seeing him onscreen. SO HAPPY.

Graham/Huntsman is such a complete fucking hero and I need more of him like breathing.

I just want to say that sending Belle to Rumpelstiltskin was the most ingenious way to murder Regina that I have ever heard of.

Belle

[personal profile] ahuntsman 2012-05-14 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Belle~

Oh, Belle.

I agree re: creeeeeeepy reunion. And I just have SO MANY ugh feels for Rumpel and what he's clearly unleashed for next season, and how this is HAPPENING ALL OVER AGAIN with the thirst for power clouding everything else.

Belle, gurrrl. You had better kick Rumpel's ass. :|

And having said that, I am super glad to see Belle out of the hospital. I cannot wait to see her role explored in greater detail next season, since she'll be right near Rumpel for some of it, at least.

At first when Rumpel hugged Belle, I was all teary eyed, and throwing pillows at the tv for making me care so much. Then, in that same "stay hear while I kill the maid" tone he tells Belle he has something to take care of. OH dear.

[personal profile] ahuntsman 2012-05-15 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly! Oh, MAN. Their reunion in the shop was really, really tearworthy.

But then.

Yeeeeeeeeah.

OH RUMPEL. WHYYYY.
ahuntsman: (h | clouded judgments.)

I don't know where I'm going with this question, really.

[personal profile] ahuntsman 2012-05-14 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
What will things look like once the smoke (SO reminiscent of the BLACK SMOKE monster from Lost) clears?

And what about all of the people in Storybrooke, now that they remember everything? What will they be like? How will they act?

Does this also mean people can now come and go from Storybrooke, or are they still restricted to it?

AND WILL MAGIC INFECT THE WORLD?

I have more questions than actualfax theories/thoughts.

Just so long as they don't screw it up and do something stupid like, give him back his body he had - age-wise - from when he left FTL.
