Once Upon a Time Episode 2.17
"The Hat Trick"
Once Upon a Time Episode 2.17
"The Hat Trick"
It is now quite past Sunday. Who loved Hat Trick? Who flailed and had ALL THE FEELINGS?
Who needs to discuss theories and CAPSLOCK LIKE YOU WERE BORN TO?
Bring it on, baby. You're home here.
And, yes, next time this will go up Sunday after the episode airs.
Ongoing Storybrooke Plot
Re: Ongoing Storybrooke Plot
I'm wondering what exactly this 'deal' was.
And oh, Emma's slip in calling MM "family". Just. Okay, I'm still ALL THE FEELINGS about this.
Re: Ongoing Storybrooke Plot
The while "Family" conversation. The whole "U can't loose my family. I can't." And MM's "...family?" With all the stars in her eyes.
And how Emma leaves her the choice. Not just trust me and come back. The I'll let you go, but I damned as hell don't want to. But you have to choose to trust me, and want to go through this with me. I can't do it for you.
And it's absolutely everything David didn't do for her in the episode before this. And it is so so so perfectly them.
And Emma's whole "That woman in the other room is my mother. And I want that more than anything in the whole room," which is totally misquoted but close.
ALL THE FEELS.
Re: Ongoing Storybrooke Plot
1. "Did you pick up kickboxing while I wasn't looking?"
"I have no idea where that came from."
Yes to the yes power. MM goes after the Hatter first with a croquet mallet, and then she kicks a man out a window. Because apparently being a badass bleeds through if your child is in danger. Even if you can't remember she's yours.
2. FIRST PERSON TO LEAVE STORYBROOKE!
I mean we don't have proof 'something bad' doesn't happen to him for trying to leave, but he vanished and the hat was the right direction up and it was made with Emma's magic. OMG. FIRST PERSON.
Re: Ongoing Storybrooke Plot
Also, Regina and Gold making a deal surrounding MM's trial? Just how deep does this deal run? He planted the key, is the feeling I got, but - was Gold involved in the frame-up to begin with? Is Kathryn actually dead or was that heart from Regina's vault o' hearts?
(Re: Kathryn, I still think she might've been starting to shake the spell loose and made the mistake of telling Regina that Storybrooke didn't feel right anymore.)
Re: Ongoing Storybrooke Plot
Did he plant the key there, while in her cell at some point? Did he plant the key as far back as when he was in the cell? Or. Did he magic the key into the cell?
Also! YES. I've been asking the same question about the heart vault and Kathryn's heart. Since Graham was fine without his real heart, so maybe Princess Abigail's heart was taken at some point?
Inquiring minds totally want to know:
What is THE DEAL between Regina & Gold? She wants MM to go down obvious, but what does he want/get out of it? Is it new since the middle of the Storybrooke timeline we've been watching (since Emma's arrival) or is it older?

LET'S MAKE A DEAL, INDEED. One of these days I'm going to count just how many he has going.

Ongoing Fairy Tale Backstory
(Don't tell me I was the only person who thought Jefferson totally has a door to Milliways, somewhere off his one to OZ in the background!)
Re: Ongoing Fairy Tale Backstory
Very tired. D: hopefully have more after I see it again.
But who else go 'ex' vibes from Hatter and Regina? Because, seriously, the way he got up in her face, the 'oh, what does the ex want' harmonics from him, I just.
EX VIBES. I GOT A LOT OF THEM. Which if truuuuuue complicates Regina's backstory a lot, but this show has all the complications.
Re: Ongoing Fairy Tale Backstory
I totally got the vibes of Something Serious Went Down Between These Two. More than just employer and lackey, as you said. Jefferson got right up in her personal space and she just smiled all serenely. You could argue it's just Jefferson's personality, but I really don't think so. I think there is history there, and I NEED TO KNOW WHAT. GAH, HEADVOICE.

New Characters This Week
The Queen of Hearts & The Knave of Hearts!
Re: New Characters This Week
That fit The Queen through when Regina was called "The Queen" instead of "That Woman." I'm betting these two are vastly related. We know they have a power struggle somewhere. (It would be insane if that was her mother, right?)
Though literal hearts doesn't work as well, when the mushroom makes him 'taller.' Does she keep hearts? Does she keep tiny people in the boxes? All the things. I need to know them.

Re: New Characters This Week
Soooooooo Gabby and I were tossing around a theory that those characters who've had a lot of trauma before being dragged into SB, they are able to remember things better. Which I have no idea if Jefferson works with this, because he was in Wonderland (presumably) when dragged into the curse.
BUT I don't think the curse would have let him remember just to torture him - he could 'remember' Grace/Paige being taken away by social services, adopted by a new family, and that'd serve just as well (see MM and David - they don't need to remember to be made miserable). So, I'm pondering if it's the trauma idea, or if Jefferson has enough of his own magic to remember, or if it's because he was dragged from Wonderland. ALL QUESTIONS.

Re: New Characters This Week
I wouldn't be surprised if Paige and Henry have bonded a little over being adopted, even though Paige seems to be in a happier situation than Henry is.

Theories
Re: Theories
Jefferson's hat in FTL opens a portal to different worlds, right? You jump down the hat and end up in the hall of doors.
When Jefferson fell out the window in the RW/Storybrooke, he disappeared while the hat rested there crown to the ground. Given the shot immediately after commercial where Emma and MM are looking doooown into the hat, we're obviously left to assume the hat worked and down the rabbit hole he went.
Um. Does anybody else remember the end of 1x05? When Regina dropped the piece of mirror down the mine shaft, and it dropped, dropped, dropped, far, far down? Given everyone the impression that the mine could in fact be a portal between the worlds?
GUYS. GUYS. PORTALS. I THINK STORYBROOKE HAS THEM.

Re: Thoughts on Next Weeks Preview
No wonder she has all the guilt and ownership of her "Yes," when she was asked if she did ruin this woman's life. I need this episode.

Re: Free For all Flailing
(That said, I really want the story where he's running Storybrooke's head shop and Emma's all 'Storybrooke *has* a head shop???')

Because apparently I won't be waiting until the finale only it looks like! I will join the episode love in shortly, once I stop being as bright as a daffodil about this news.
